Bridges M&C is a communications consultancy that achieves measurable outcomes through fresh insights and smart strategies.

We believe that PR is an effective and vital weapon in your marketing arsenal, and not just part of a to-do list to be ticked off.

If you have tried multiple agencies and are tired of the same approaches and results, work with us. We sometimes work in unconventional ways, but we always get the results that you want.

We don’t stick a finger in the air and hope for the best – our approach is intelligent, practical and performance-oriented to enable you to reach your goals.

Being headed by two account directors with years of journalism experience, we’re especially good at content. We cross-train our staff under our sister company Bridges Publishing, to ensure that they have solid news judgement along with strong editorial chops. We also provide social media services as well as event organisation and support.

John Battersby joined Bridges in 2007 having previously worked as a journalist with a variety of regional and international trade publications in the rubber and oil and gas industries such as Rubber Asia and UpStream. In that time, he was the main copywriter on the ExxonMobile account with advertising agency McCann-Erickson.

Eight years with Bridges M&C have given him a broad range of practical PR capabilities; he is equally comfortable with writing as well as planning duties. In terms of writing, John has produced product brochures as well as developed and executed social media campaigns.

He has also written hundreds of completed articles and interviews for trade and consumer media and thousands of news pitches which have been picked up and run by trade and consumer media in Singapore, Asia-Pacific, Europe and the United Kingdom. Fourteen years in the British Army prior to his stint as a journalist equipped him with the aptitude for devising and organising events from budgeting and programming to execution.

After graduating from National University of Singapore in 2000 with a liberal arts degree she joined Eastern Publishing and later Singapore Press Holdings where she was schooled in the journalistic staples of writing, sub-editing and copy-editing. She began as a one-woman outfit from a tiny cubbyhole office, under the stairs of shophouse on Circular Road barely enough space for her desk and a filing cabinet.

In 2002, with a creative director, she founded 360-marketing agency Nine Communications and for three years she managed a number of lifestyle accounts handling duties as diverse as organising event launches, producing magazines and newsletters and generating coverage in the media.

Today her clientele under Bridges M&C ranges from medical professional associations and pharmaceutical companies to international trade and government-funded event organisers in Singapore and abroad. She has been the managing editor for the all corporate and consumer publishing projects under Bridges Publishing which was established in 2010.
